Johnston Construction Company is an environmental and
remedial construction contractor located in Dover (York County),
Pennsylvania. Johnston specializes in
environmental project construction and hazardous waste cleanup. Our experience includes the construction of
water and waste treatment facilities for both industrial and municipal
clients. Johnston also specializes in
the construction of foundations for handling leachate and methane gas at area
landfills. Locally, Johnston does a
significant amount of millwrighting and rigging for industrial clients. In 1997, Johnston merged with Remediation,
Incorporated, and environmental remediation company. Johnston’s remedial capabilities include
soil remediation, UST/AST removal, building decontamination, and groundwater
treatment system construction.
Recently, Johnston Construction Company combined operations with
Industrial Services Division in order to better serve our clients, primarily
in the Maryland and Northern Virginia areas. Initially, Johnston’s services were established in
central Pennsylvania, but over the years our service area has expanded to
include eastern Pennsylvania, Maryland, New Jersey, Delaware, Virginia, West
Virginia, and South Carolina. We now
serve clients in the Mid-Atlantic region and beyond. Click

and project engineers have Bachelor of Science degrees in an engineering
specialty and some are licensed as professional engineers. Johnston has a Merit Shop craft workforce
that has multi-trade capabilities and an excellent reputation for quality
workmanship. Johnston owns a variety
of large construction equipment to handle excavation, structural, mechanical,
millwrighting, and hazardous waste cleanup projects. Currently, the company serves a variety of public and
private clients. In recent years,
Johnston’s workload has been divided between municipal and industrial
projects. While the majority of our
work is acquired based on plans and specifications, Johnston does a
significant percentage of projects on a design/construct basis. Johnston is eager to understand and solve
our clients’ problems and our strength is in jobs that are unusual,
difficult, or require significant technical ability. Johnston’s emphasis on quality workmanship has earned the company the
“Accredited Quality Contractor” designation from the Associated Builders and
