Contract: $800,150
Design-Build Team Members Key Accomplishments:
Project Description:
JCC was low bidder on a design-build contract under a private-bid fixed price contract for leachate storage tanks in a block containment and pole building. The project consisted of two 250,000 gallon bolted leachate storage tanks in a concrete containment structure. For economy and serviceability, we chose Columbian epoxy-lined steel storage tanks with a steel floor. The containment was a block structure with 8’ high concrete walls. The piping was all PVC, insulated and heat traced above grade and all covered by the pole building.
The project was implemented as a fast track project, due to Waste Management’s need to get a new landfill cell online. The project was completed on time to meet the owner’s deadline, and on budget. It was another job out of many Johnston Construction’s approximately 30 projects at the site. Waste Management’s Testimonial:
Jim Stipe, Waste Management’s landfill manager said, “ When we have to move on a project, we call JCC.”
