CORPORATE INFORMATION

Remediation, Inc. is a chemical hazardous waste cleanup company marketing to both private industry and government clients. The firm evolved from a heavy construction contractor that was engaged in environmental construction projects. This companion firm, Johnston Construction Company started environmental work in 1976 and performed a significant amount of work for General Electric. That association led into the need to developing the capability for performing hazardous waste jobs.

In 1987, insurance requirements as well as the implementation of OSHA's 29CFR1910.120 made the establishment of an independent company to specialize in hazardous waste a necessity. Therefore, on December 7, 1987 Remediation, Inc. was incorporated. Subsequently, in 1997, the insurance markets changed and the companies were able to merge. This increased flexibility in the ability to use manpower and equipment, while making pricing more competitive.

All remedial field employees are medically monitored and safety trained in accordance with OSHA and the company's Corporate Health and Safety Plan. An extensive company training program combined with low turnover enables us to maintain the most skilled work force in the industry. Our project management staff includes personnel experienced in civil, mechanical and chemical engineering, and environmental science. An ability to get the job done right, on time and at reasonable prices has enabled Remediation to do substantial repeat business. A niche market for Remediation is the construction of Groundwater Treatment Systems on waste sites. Other work has included building decontamination, contaminated soil cleanups, and tank removals and replacements.

In 1989, Remediation was the major cleanup contractor at the former Reading Railroad Terminal which has been converted into the new Philadelphia Convention Center.

Our work areas have included Pennsylvania, Maryland, Delaware, New Jersey, West Virginia and New York. The company maintains tank removal and installation certifications in Pennsylvania, Maryland and New Jersey.
