Key Accomplishments

Johnston Construction Company

  • The work included excavation, dewatering, structural preparation, precast structure installation, backfill, compaction, grading, concrete work, and restoration of disturbed areas.
  • JCC installed the limited sanitary-sewer and force-main piping included in its subcontract, together with valves, fittings, restraints, utility structures, and required connections.
  • The company installed the pumping-station mechanical systems, including interior piping, pipe supports, ventilation components, equipment access systems, and the assigned odor-control infrastructure.
  • JCC coordinated the installation and connection of pumping equipment and controls furnished by others.
  • Electrical construction included utility-service infrastructure, electrical panels, underground raceways, equipment wiring, lighting, grounding, surge protection, and power connections for the pumping-station systems.
  • The project included a pad-mounted 50-kilowatt emergency generator with an automatic transfer system and supporting fuel, grounding, and electrical infrastructure.
  • JCC installed or coordinated the programmable logic controller, pump-control system, level monitoring, alarms, instrumentation, communication wiring, and SCADA-related interfaces.
  • The company coordinated testing, equipment startup, operator training, inspections, as-built documentation, operations and maintenance information, cleanup, and final project closeout.
  • Johnston Construction Company performed the lift-station installation for the Brock Bridge Landing development in Jessup, Maryland.
  • The project provided a new sewage pumping station designed to collect wastewater from the Brock Bridge Landing development and convey it through the associated force-main system.
  • Anne Arundel County is identified on the project drawings as the Owner, and McCrone prepared the final technical specifications and engineering drawings for the Brock Bridge Landing Sewage Pumping Station.
  • Woda Construction, Inc. served as the General Contractor and retained Johnston Construction Company as the subcontractor responsible for the lift-station installation.

B & R Electrical Contractors

  • B & R Electrical Contractors performed the electrical construction supporting the new Brock Bridge Landing Sewage Pumping Station.
  • BRE installed electrical raceways, conductors, boxes, equipment connections, lighting, grounding, controls, and power-distribution infrastructure throughout the pumping-station facility.
  • The electrical work supported two submersible grinder pumps, the pump-control system, wet-well instrumentation, ventilation equipment, odor-control equipment, and associated mechanical systems.
  • BRE installed or connected the electrical service, panelboards, disconnecting equipment, surge protection, automatic transfer equipment, and emergency-power infrastructure.
  • The company provided electrical connections and controls supporting the emergency generator and automatic transfer of the pumping station from normal utility power to standby power.
  • BRE coordinated power, control, and communication wiring serving the pumps, level-monitoring devices, alarms, programmable controls, instrumentation, and remote-monitoring systems.
  • The electrical scope included installation of underground electrical raceways and the service duct bank between the pumping-station equipment and the utility service.
  • BRE modified pump feeders and wiring following an approved field order that revised conduit sizes, conductor sizes, and grinder-pump motor information.
  • The company extended the electrical service duct bank after the utility transformer location was moved farther from the pumping-station site.
  • BRE provided and coordinated installation of a new antenna pole, climbing steps, antenna cable, and elevated-access equipment supporting the station’s communication system.
  • BRE participated in electrical inspections, equipment testing, generator testing, control verification, startup, and commissioning of the completed pumping-station systems.
  • B & R Electrical Contractors, Inc. performed the electrical portion of the Brock Bridge Landing Sewage Pumping Station project in Jessup, Maryland.
  • The overall project provided a new sewage pumping station for the Brock Bridge Landing development, including a wet well, valve vault, grinder pumps, force-main piping, electrical service, emergency power, controls, instrumentation, ventilation, odor control, communications, and related site improvements.
  • Anne Arundel County served as the Owner, and McCrone prepared the final technical specifications and engineering documents for the pumping station. The project specifications describe the principal facility as a 45-gallon-per-minute submersible grinder-pump station with a wet well, valve vault, and odor-control system.
