Key Accomplishments

  • Installed electrical wiring through the existing underground conduit and pull-box system between the power distribution building and the individual well enclosures, integrating the new electrical systems with previously constructed site infrastructure.
  • Furnished and installed four well-pump electrical enclosures serving the Copperfield well-site improvements.
  • Installed a new electrical service from the power-company transformer to the new power distribution building, establishing the primary electrical supply for the upgraded well system.
  • Furnished and installed a 125 kW standby generator together with a 200-amp automatic transfer switch and associated fuel-system work to provide emergency power capability for the well-site electrical system.
  • Furnished and installed a three-section motor control center (MCC) serving the water-production equipment.
  • Provided well-pump motor starters, local well-pump disconnects and electrical transformers required for operation and distribution of power to the individual well facilities.
  • Installed the lighting, switches and receptacles required within the power distribution building.
  • Coordinated the new electrical distribution system with the project's Division 16 requirements for service and distribution, motor starting, disconnecting means, grounding, raceways, wiring and electrical equipment connections. The project specifications identify a complete electrical distribution system and soft-start motor-control requirements for the upgraded facilities.
  • Provided electrical infrastructure supporting the well-pumping system while coordinating connections between the power distribution building, pump equipment and individual well enclosures.
  • Installed raceway and conductor systems in accordance with project electrical requirements, which specified separate equipment-grounding conductors throughout conduits and raceways and recognized rigid steel, flexible metallic, PVC and liquid-tight raceway systems for applicable installations.
  • Coordinated motor-control installations with the project requirements for starters, disconnects and power wiring associated with mechanical equipment.
  • Supported the broader Copperfield Water System Expansion, which included upgrades to the water treatment plant and associated well facilities designed by McCrone for Frederick County.
