  • Provided electrical support for upgraded ICEAS treatment systems, blower equipment, fine-bubble aeration, submersible mixers, decanter systems, mechanical screening equipment, and associated process controls.
  • Furnished and installed heat tracing for the headworks area as required by the electrical subcontract.
  • Installed electrical raceways, fittings, wiring, cable, equipment connections, disconnect switches, and supporting electrical materials.
  • Integrated new wastewater-treatment equipment with the facility's existing motor control center and electrical distribution systems.
  • Provided power, control, and monitoring wiring associated with new control panels and treatment equipment.
  • Supported integration of the upgraded process equipment with the facility's existing SCADA and control systems.
  • B & R Electrical Contractors, Inc. served as the Electrical Subcontractor to Kinsley Construction, Inc. for the Mill Bottom Wastewater Treatment Plant Facility Upgrade in Mt. Airy, Maryland. The project was undertaken for Frederick County's Division of Utilities and Solid Waste Management and was designed by Wm. F. Hill & Associates, Inc.
  • The executed subcontract required B & R Electrical Contractors to provide all labor, materials, and equipment for the electrical construction in accordance with the project drawings and specifications. BRE's work specifically included conduit, wire, and power required for the new equipment furnished by Kinsley, together with heat tracing for the headworks area.
  • The wastewater treatment plant upgrade included significant improvements to the existing treatment process. The overall project incorporated upgrades to the ICEAS sequencing treatment system, including new fine-bubble aeration equipment, blower modifications, submersible mixers, decanter improvements, upgraded process controls, and improvements to the plant headworks.
  • The project schedule identified major treatment-system components including SBR basin demolition, ICEAS blower equipment and modifications, fine-bubble aeration equipment and installation, decanter-drive equipment, submersible mixers, the ICEAS control system, access-platform work, mechanical screening equipment, headworks improvements, and associated electrical construction. BRE's role was specifically the electrical work supporting this larger treatment-process upgrade.
  • The upgraded equipment required extensive electrical integration. BRE's work supported electrical connections for the plant's new process equipment, including the ICEAS treatment system, aeration blowers, submersible mixers, decanter equipment, mechanical screening system, and other wastewater-treatment components.
