  • New water piping, valves, fittings, restraints, supports, connections, and appurtenances were installed to connect the elevated tank to the existing water system.
  • JCC completed electrical-distribution work supporting tank lighting, heat tracing, grounding, lightning-protection interfaces, instrumentation, communication systems, and SCADA monitoring.
  • The completed water-storage system was pressure-tested, cleaned, disinfected, sampled, inspected, and prepared for operation.
  • Construction was performed on an active public-school property while maintaining safe access and protecting existing utilities, structures, students, staff, and surrounding facilities.
  • Johnston Construction Company performed the supporting construction work for the Post Oak Middle School Elevated Water Storage Tank project in Spotsylvania County, Virginia.
  • The project provided a new 150,000-gallon spheroid elevated water-storage tank serving Spotsylvania County Public Schools.
  • The project specifications identify Spotsylvania County Public Schools as the Owner and Timmons Group as the Engineer. The overall project included construction of the elevated tank, piping, foundation, site work, access provisions, and associated appurtenances.
  • Johnston Construction Company performed its work under a subcontract dated July 22, 2021.
  • Marty Workinger signed the agreement on behalf of JCC, while Jeremy Binkley signed as the Contractor’s representative.

  • The work included the concrete walkway, splash block, pipe supports, and outlet structure associated with the elevated tank site.
  • CSD completed footing, slab-on-grade, and straight-wall formwork, together with concrete placement, floating, screeding, troweling, finishing, curing, and point-and-patch work.
  • The company placed approximately 42 cubic yards of concrete and coordinated concrete deliveries, pumping services, and testing furnished or paid for by JCC.
  • CSD placed approximately 1.91 tons of reinforcing steel and installed welded-wire mesh within the assigned concrete work.
  • The scope included three pipe-support pads and installation of 11 pile uplift connectors supplied by others.
  • CSD coordinated its work with JCC’s excavation, subgrade preparation, equipment support, concrete procurement, tank construction, piping, and overall project schedule.
  • Concrete Services Division, LLC performed the concrete portion of the Post Oak Middle School Elevated Water Storage Tank project in Spotsylvania, Virginia.
  • The overall project provided a new 150,000-gallon spheroid elevated water-storage tank for Spotsylvania County Public Schools.
