  • Major work included construction sequencing, layout, wet well setting, sanitary sewer installation, valve vault installation, pipe installation, force main installation, electrical coordination, startup, demonstration, demolition, top slab installation, and restoration.
  • The work required maintenance of pipeline and pumping operations, coordination of shutdowns, bypass pumping planning, pump station operational sequencing, and close coordination with Stafford County requirements.
  • The project included electrical work such as conduit, wire, connections, new 400A breaker, transformer, vault lighting, junction box, splice box work, electrical ductbank excavation, and core drilling for electrical conduits.
  • The work required coordination with Allan Myers, STACK Infrastructure, Stafford County, Kimley-Horn, utility providers, electrical suppliers, equipment suppliers, inspectors, and project stakeholders.
  • The overall project consisted of upgrades to the Potomac Creek Pump Station in Stafford County, Virginia. The project included furnishing, constructing, and installing materials and equipment required for pump station improvements, including a new wet well, valve vault, top slabs with access hatches, pumping equipment, access equipment, electrical and control equipment, piping, interconnections with existing and adjacent new facilities, site work, demolition, and modifications to existing structures.
  • JCC’s scope included the pump station upgrade work required under the subcontract documents. The work included mobilization and layout, setting the wet well, installing sanitary sewer, installing the valve vault, installing pipe from the wet well to the valve vault, installing the 16-inch discharge force main, coordinating electrical work, startup and demonstration, demolition of existing work, top slab installation, and curb restoration.
  • The wet well work included installation of the new wet well and coordination with shoring, access, site conditions, backfill, grout, pump equipment requirements, piping, penetrations, double modular seals, level transducer, float switch, access hatch work, and final pump station integration.
  • The valve vault work included installation of the new valve vault and associated piping, valves, connections, access features, penetrations, supports, and coordination with the new wet well and existing pump station systems.
  • Piping work included installation of pipe from the wet well to the valve vault, 16-inch discharge force main work, sanitary sewer work, and connections to existing and adjacent new facilities. JCC coordinated pipe installation with excavation, dewatering, trenching, bedding, backfill, testing, and system operation requirements.
  • The work required maintaining pipeline and pumping operations during construction. JCC coordinated work affecting the active sewer system with Stafford County, including sequencing, shutdown planning, tie-in coordination, bypass pumping requirements, alarms, emergency response planning, and minimizing interruptions to service.
  • Demolition work included removal and modification of existing structures and systems required to complete the pump station upgrades. JCC coordinated demolition with existing utilities, active pumping operations, adjacent work, and protection of existing facilities to remain.
