Sam Hill Estates Well No. 6 – Electrical Distribution & Controls Improvements

Key Accomplishments

• Installed a new traffic-bearing electrical manhole on the access road near Well No. 5 and connected the new work to the existing underground conduit system.
• Installed approximately 900 linear feet of new 2-inch electrical conduit between the new manhole and the Well No. 6 control enclosure.
• Installed additional electrical manholes along the conduit route to provide access to the underground distribution system.
• Furnished and installed wiring, conduit, and electrical connections for the Well No. 6 power disconnect, well equipment, level controls, and remote readout system.
• Installed new power and control wiring between Wells No. 5 and No. 6, including wiring for the low-level shutdown alarm back to the existing water treatment plant.
• Installed a new Well No. 6 starter bucket in the existing motor control center.
• Furnished and installed a 5200 BW controller with probes and cable for well monitoring and control.
• Installed a new three-position selector switch at the water treatment plant to provide pump-selection capability.
• Furnished and installed a new aluminum electrical equipment enclosure at Well No. 6.
• Coordinated the new well electrical systems with existing water-system power, controls, alarms, and monitoring infrastructure.
• B & R Electrical Contractors, Inc. served as the Electrical Subcontractor to Kinsley Industrial for the Sam Hill Estates Well No. 6 improvements in Mt. Airy, Maryland. The project was performed for Frederick County, with Wm. F. Hill & Associates serving as Engineer. BRE's work focused on providing the electrical infrastructure required to integrate Well No. 6 into the existing water system.
• The electrical work included modifications to the existing feeder arrangement and installation of a separate electrical feed serving Well No. 6. BRE provided the labor and materials necessary to complete the electrical improvements in accordance with the project requirements and coordinated its work with Kinsley Industrial and the existing water-system infrastructure.
