Key Accomplishments
- Provided an 18-pulse pulse-width-modulated VFD with reduced-voltage solid-state bypass starter, enclosure and associated control equipment.
- Replaced the existing VFD in its established equipment location while adapting the new equipment to the existing physical and electrical conditions.
- Furnished required wiring, conduit, circuit breakers, electrical-system connections and associated ductwork modifications for the complete Pump No. 2 installation.
- Integrated the replacement VFD with the existing pump motor, pump control panel and plant electrical system.
- Coordinated the VFD's control and status-monitoring signals with the existing controls system and pump control panel.
- Integrated required SCADA monitoring, including transmission of a single-phasing condition signal from the VFD to the plant SCADA system.
- Provided a constant-speed bypass system utilizing a solid-state reduced-voltage soft-start/soft-stop starter, allowing continued motor operation in the event of VFD shutdown.
- Completed required electrical grounding, equipment connections and protective-device coordination associated with the new drive system.
- Sequenced tie-ins, shutdowns and equipment installation so the existing wastewater treatment facility could remain operational while the replacement work was performed.
- Coordinated and completed required field testing, startup and final VFD adjustment, including inspection of field wiring and complete operational testing.
- Verified operation of the VFD, bypass starter, control circuitry, remote-control functions and indication features.
- Provided required harmonic-distortion analysis and field-testing documentation for the new VFD system.
