Key Accomplishments
- JCC’s work included HVAC construction, mobilization, submittals, O&M manuals, startup, testing, and project closeout for the pump station mechanical/HVAC contract.
- The HVAC specifications included ductless air conditioners, electric unit heaters, basic mechanical materials and methods, and controls and instrumentation.
- The work required coordination with Lehigh County Authority, Entech Engineering, other project contractors, mechanical equipment suppliers, electrical personnel, controls personnel, inspectors, and project stakeholders.
- The project required compliance with Lehigh County Authority requirements, Entech Engineering project requirements, mechanical/HVAC requirements, pump station facility requirements, submittal requirements, O&M manual requirements, testing requirements, startup requirements, prevailing wage requirements, safety requirements, and closeout requirements.
- The HVAC work included basic mechanical materials and methods, ductless air conditioning systems, electric unit heaters, controls and instrumentation, startup, testing, O&M manuals, and project closeout. These systems supported the pump station building and helped provide a suitable operating environment for equipment, personnel access, and long-term facility operation.
- The bid form for Contract No. 2024-03 identified the major Mechanical/HVAC work items as bonds and insurance, mobilization, submittals, HVAC, O&M manuals, startup and testing, and project closeout. The HVAC line item represented the primary portion of the contract work.
- JCC’s work included mobilization, shop drawing coordination, equipment coordination, HVAC installation, mechanical coordination, controls coordination, startup, testing, O&M manual preparation, and closeout documentation.
- The ductless air conditioning work supported temperature control within the pump station facility. This work required coordination of equipment submittals, manufacturer information, installation requirements, electrical interfaces, condensate routing where applicable, controls, startup, and closeout documentation.
- The electric unit heater work supported heating requirements for the pump station building. This work required coordination of equipment placement, clearances, electrical connections, controls, startup, and operation and maintenance information.
- Controls and instrumentation work within the HVAC contract supported operation of the mechanical systems. JCC coordinated HVAC controls with the project requirements, mechanical equipment, electrical systems, and facility operating needs.
- The project required JCC to coordinate Mechanical/HVAC work with the other project contracts and trades. This included coordination with general/process mechanical work, electrical work, SCADA-related work, building construction, equipment installation, testing, startup, and turnover activities.
- The Notice to Proceed was issued by Lehigh County Authority on July 19, 2024, and stated that the Mechanical/HVAC work was to be substantially complete within 225 days from the date of the Notice to Proceed.
